The Midwest Association for the Education of Young Children Records are divided into nine series. Series I contain executive information, Series II contains agendas and minutes, Series III contains membership rosters, Series IV contains correspondence, Series V contains financial information, Series VI contains information pertaining to the MAEYC annual conference, Series VII contains information dealing with special projects, Series VIII contains individual state-by-state reports, Series IX contains general information on various issues. The second addition to the Midwest Association for the Education of Young Children (MAEYC) Papers consists of correspondence, membership, newsletters, meeting minutes, annual conference material, and financial documents. Also included are documents related to grant guidelines and procedures. The materials date from 1993-2001.

The Midwestern Association for the Education of Young Children began in 1926 as the Midwestern Association for Nursery Education (MANE). The organization became an Affiliate Group of NAEYC in the 1965-66 membership year and changed its name to the Midwestern Association for the Education of Young Children (MAEYC).
